First Visit Expectations
If you’re like most patients, you appreciate being informed before arriving at the dentist. Below is an overview of what you can expect during your first visit to Morgan Dentistry.
Let’s get to know each other
Your first visit is not only about our team getting to know you, but also about you getting to know our team. In the time we spend together, we encourage you to ask questions, express your concerns, and share with us anything you want us to know to help make your care as individual as you are.
Part of getting to know you and providing safe, personalized support involves reviewing your medical history. Certain medical conditions and medications and can influence your treatment protocols – so you will be asked to provide a list of your medications and their dosages (including vitamins and supplements).
You're in great hands
Your first visit with us will last approximately 80 minutes. At this visit, all necessary radiographs, intra and extraoral photographs, a full periodontal evaluation and a non-invasive oral cancer screening will be performed.
Once this information has been gathered, you will spend time with Dr. Morgan as he discusses with you his findings. At this point, you will probably agree that it is the most thorough and comprehensive dental examination that you have ever experienced.
It is our strong preference that we do not do "just a cleaning" at the initial appointment. The reason is threefold. We have already been busy for nearly an hour and half. Having just evaluated your oral health, we want to be sure we set aside enough time to properly clean your teeth, and we would like to be able to explain all aspects of your level of health, explain your treatment plan and make any necessary appointments or payment arrangements. Making rash decisions is not our goal. We would like to help you plan your dental future at your pace and comfort level.
If you haven’t been to a dentist in a long while, please don’t worry. You’ve made an important decision – no need to feel guilty!
